Play Time with Po Po

After a long day of visiting parks, visiting some friends and running errands.

James had a snack of Po Po's oatmeal raisin cookies. James couldn't wait to bite into his nummy nummy.

And then played tug of war with his ball. He has got the tightest grip!

I do not know who had more fun- Po Po or James.

Toby and James

Po Po, James and I went to visit our friend Toby. James was not too sure about Toby's dog. James only likes his dogs cause he is afraid other dogs are going to eat him.
You should see how fast he can climb up your shoulder or grab at your neck frantically to even scale up higher towards your head. The higher the better. It's quite comical.

We had a very good visit. James would only go down if Toby had his hand on his dog and then ran from me to Po Po and back. Love Toby's new gas fireplace. Instead of logs, he has rocks in it. Very nice effect.

We tried to get James to smile but he kept watching the dog so he wouldn't get too close to him. Sydney wanted to play but James would not have anything to do with Sydney.

Tree Sox

Po Po and James went to Anderson Park in downtown Redmond. The Redmond Reporter had an article about the Artificial Light art installation by Suzanne Tidell.

http://www.redmond-reporter.com/lifestyle/140198343.html

By March 8, the goal is to have the brightly striped color sleeves around 50 trees.

They were there while the artist installed the sleeves.

James checked them all out.

James gave them his smile of approval.

James at Home Depot

Po Po and James went to Home Depot. The crew liked James's orange coat because it was the same color as their aprons. Look who now has his own apron. The little intern. He could now be the welcome greeter. Slight problem though. James does not smile for strangers.

Of course, they had to check out the nursery.

James checked out the used wine barrels.

James's favorite section was the power tools especially the mowers.

He really liked the riding mowers. He kept signing "More, more".

At home, James got good use out his shop apron. Guess what he has in them? No tools, balls and balls.

Busy Little Man

We were so excited to get James for a couple of days. He had not been able to come over to visit because of the snow. Three weeks is a long time not to see the cute little bugger.

Great-Aunt Judy came over for a visit.

And they went to Great Harvest Bread Company. Judy got to see how impatient James got if you didn't feed him bread fast enough.

While they were shopping James played outside with the wheel barrow.

Then he moved rocks from from this cart to the wheel barrow. He chatted to himself while moving the rocks. He went back and forth more than twenty times transporting the rocks.

Allison went to class and forgot that his shoes were still in the van. Velda knowing he would not be content to play inside, fashioned some slippers out of rags and a rubber band.

They got quite dirty but James did not seem to mind. As long as his feet could touch the ground, he was good to go.

Growing Up Too Fast

James is almost two and growing up fast. He weighs 27 lbs at 22 months.

He wants to wear big shoes.

One of his favorite things is ringing door bells. He can do this forever. You can open the door, but he says, "No, no" so you have to shut the door again so the ringing cycle continues.

Another is light switches. He obviously likes electrical things or push buttons. If we let him turn off all the lights in the house, this helps him prepare himself to go to bed at night and he actually will go to sleep.

And he likes to read. Well he likes you to read to him. We found him a book on balls- his new favorite toys.

Velda is developing him into quite a little helper - here he is making Valentines cards.

He loves balls - the more the merrier. He can play for hours with them- throwing them, rolling them around, and loading them in his wagon.

Any size... This is Velda's exercise ball. Shhh, James has gotten more use out of it though.

His favorite is throwing them down the stairs. He is developing a good arm so hard balls are now out of the question.

Babysitting Games

We start Friday morning off with a power breakfast of oatmeal with raisins that Po Po cut into thirds and poached eggs. See- I ate two eggs since it was in a fancy dish. It is going to be a busy day.

Then we met up with GG to a stop at Great Harvest Bread for bread and a snack. James thinks Great Harvest bread is sooo good!

Then some shopping in Kirkland.

A lunch of Vietnamese noodles. James loves pho as much as GG and Po Po.

Then home to ride the tricycle that Lauren gave him.

A dinner of Po Po's meatloaf with a light touch of tomato puree (aka Ketchup). We think James likes the puree more than meatloaf.

After dinner we play with balls. Po Po now has quite a collection for James to play with. James loves to play with balls especially the ones that light up. Po Po's friend Lauren gave her the big soccer ball and another 6 or more balls too. James was very happy.

James wanted to make sure all the balls were pumped up so Grandpa did a great job of filling them up with air.

And then we play with the fishing pole. James combined fishing and cars.

It was quite a busy day. We do not know who was more tired James or Po Po.
