Spring Has Sprung!

Spring has finally arrived in the Puget Sound.  The rhododendrons are in full bloom.  This one is called Unique.

Which means it is time to get to work in the gardens.   Velda wanted some dirt and found out if she ordered 10 yards she got a price break and the current sale would give her 2 more yards free.  So we ended up with 12 yards of dirt.  After working on the pile for 9 days, she is having some regrets.
Oh yeah, we are still working on the pile.

Velda was worried about the railroad tie being too slippery especially for James so I removed the railroad tie (easier said than done) and replaced it with landscaping bricks.  Since that looked so good, a decision was made to make a planter out of landscaping bricks.  Velda's happy cause it held many wheelbarrows of mulch and she can sit on the bricks.

Well, that looked so good, that another area was bordered in landscape bricks.

Around the corner,  the walkway was also lined with landscape bricks.  The tree stumps work great for resting.

Now, the project is to make some steps out of landscaping bricks.

The one benefit of spring is the rhubarb is growing.

And that means rhubarb pie!  A yummy sour cream custard rhubarb pie with a crumb topping.
