Christmas Time

We had Christmas Eve at our house.  It was a wonderful time with family and friends.

There was plenty of good food!

 And of course desserts.

James loves cookies and was patiently awaiting approval to have some.

And guests.

Chris was home from the East Coast.

He and James bonded well.  What's not to like when you have someone to play with!

Velda put some fake snow on the table with the village.  We caught James blowing the snow at the end of the village.  The animals and figurines now look like they are covered in blizzard conditions.

He also loved assisting people in opening presents.

Saturday Outing

Last Saturday, Allison and Scott wanted us to met them for their annual pictures and then go for a day's outing in Seattle.  They take their annual pictures at Kerry Park overlooking the Space Needle.

It was cold (near freezing) and very foggy.  Typically, the fog clears off in the morning but today it refused to leave.  It took some looking to find the Space Needle.

But the fog did clear enough to just see the base of the needle.

We made the best of it and took some pictures.

Then we all went to the Seattle Aquarium.  James loves the aquarium especially the hands on exhibits.

And Katie loved all the attention she received.

We went to Ivar's for lunch.  Velda bought James a slinky at the gift store.

And she was tempted to buy him a coloring book.  Edwin is her brother's name.

We all had a great time even though it was not the best weather.

James the Baker

Allison and the kids came to visit a couple of weeks ago.  Velda said something about making cookies.  James ran over to the supply cabinet and looked for the sprinkles.

Allison and Velda said they were not ready to make cookies so he would have to wait.  So pensively he sat staring at the sprinkles for the longest time.

Finally, they started making cookies.   He was a good helper in cutting out the cookies.

And adding the sprinkles.  Allison knew from experience that he like to put a very liberal dose of sprinkles on his cookies so she kept a watchful eye.

Finally they were ready to go into the oven.

The cookies that Velda really wanted to make were pizzelles.  She wanted a picture of James and her holding the cookies but James was more interested in eating the cookies than posing with the cookies.
